A new worldbuilding Virtual Tabletop (VTT) solution called Realm Architect has just launched on Kickstarter, and it promises to revolutionize the way GMs create and run their campaigns. The project has already gained the attention of TTRPG celebrities, including Becca Scott from Geek & Sundry and Good Times Society, and Jeff Cannata, from the actual play podcast Dungeon Run. The campaign is currently live with 29 days left, ending on May 31.
Realm Architect is designed to make the worldbuilding process easy and accessible for everyone, removing the stress of preparing everything down to the most minor of details. It uses a VTT base with all data available on a digital platform, layering the accessibility of single-player RPG video games on top, and adding easy-to-learn worldbuilding tools for GMs. The tool allows you to build entire realms for your players to adventure through, with an intuitive drag-and-drop interface, a customizable UI, and a pre-loaded 5E OGL codex.
One of the standout features of Realm Architect is its ease of use. You don’t need to be an engineer or have any coding experience to use this tool. The UI is designed to be user-friendly, making everything you need easily accessible. The automated systems keep track of player HP, status effects, buffs, and boons, so you don’t need to worry about writing everything down. The tool even includes ready-made content for you to adventure through, with campaigns made by experienced GMs and veteran publishers.
The Realm Architect team has worked hard to create a tool that not only empowers players and GMs to create the best stories ever told but also helps reduce the barrier to entry. The team is supported by Polygoat, an experienced Belgian game development studio that helps with the visuals and coding.
To showcase the tool’s capabilities, the team recorded an epic D&D one-shot adventure at Thornbury Castle, with Jeff Cannata as the DM. This recording will be shared at a later date, so keep an eye on the Realm Architect Kickstarter and social media accounts.
Realm Architect’s Kickstarter campaign offers a range of rewards for backers, including early access to the tool, access to exclusive content, and more. If you’re a TTRPG fan, you won’t want to miss this opportunity to transform your tabletop gaming experience.
