Paperback 10th Anniversary + Typewriter Kickstarter Campaign Smashes Goal with Over $109,000 Raised So Far

The popular card game Paperback has just celebrated its 10th anniversary, and to mark the occasion, a new edition has been released on Kickstarter alongside a brand new travel word game called Typewriter. With 11 days still remaining on the campaign, it has already surpassed its initial goal of $10,000 by raising over $109,000.

The Paperback 10th Anniversary Edition boasts a fresh graphic design and artwork, including new novel covers from a variety of talented artists. The new starting decks have added more decision-making and variety to the first few turns of the game, while the brand new Genre mode gives players unique tech trees that open up novel ways to play with a genre’s theme front and center.

In addition, the Deadline variant adds drafting to Paperback, allowing for simultaneous play, and Typos allow players to nab that card that’s just out of reach. The new Spy mode pits players against an automated enemy spy, creating problems to address until the deck is strong enough to end the game. Players can also enjoy unlockable cards that expand the game’s offering after each playthrough.

Typewriter, on the other hand, is a travel-ready game that comes in a small box and can be stored in the included zipper bag. The game features acrylic tiles instead of cards, making it resistant to rain or ocean spray. Every turn, players spell a word with the tiles in front of them, and at the end of each round, they grab a shiny new tile for themselves from the offer. The twist? Every time players spell a word, they’ll flip all the tiles in that word, revealing new letters and a completely new puzzle.

The campaign also includes stretch goals, with unique player powers being a popular feature that encourages new playstyles. Genre cards help inject more theme into the game, while the Spy Thriller mode and Typos add new layers of complexity.

The limited edition of Paperback includes double-sided playmats, dual-layered tiles, holographic foil Fame cards, clear sleeves for all cards, and custom metal book tokens. The prototype for the Typewriter game is available on Tabletop Simulator, providing a closer look at the rules for interested backers.

With the campaign ending on May 5, there’s still time to support the Paperback 10th Anniversary Edition and Typewriter on Kickstarter and be a part of this exciting milestone celebration.
