Everything you need to know about Ball Guy & Amoonguss in Pokémon Masters EX

DeNA is continuing to add more events and new features to Pokémon Masters EX on a regular basis. Read on below to learn more:

Psych up your sync pairs with the unofficial Poké Ball mascot as he strives to spread Poké Ball joy on Pasio!

Galar’s Poké Ball enthusiast is visiting Pasio for the first time—and to celebrate, a variety of special events will take place alongside Ball Guy & Amoonguss’s debut. Log in daily during the Ball Guy Welcome Rally from March 20, 2023, at 11:00 p.m. PDT to April 6, 2023, at 10:59 p.m. PDT to collect various Poké Ball replicas and earn rewards from the Mission Bingo screen. Trainers can also level up their Poison gear by participating in co-op battles during the Collecta-ball Poison Gear event. This gear is perfect for raising the stats of Poison-type sync pairs like Ball Guy & Amoonguss!

Ball Guy & Amoonguss are a Poison-type support sync pair that’s ready to cheer on Pasio sync pairs with their passive skill Team Hit Me Up 9!, which grants a team-wide stat boost. This passive skill raises one of the following stats of all allied sync pairs by one stat rank when Ball Guy & Amoonguss are hit by an attack move: Attack, Defense, Sp. Atk, Sp. Def, or Speed. Ball Guy & Amoonguss can also use On the Ball! to raise the critical-hit rate of all allied sync pairs by one stat rank.

Ball Guy & Amoonguss will be available to scout until April 6, 2023, at 10:59 p.m. PDT.

Name (Type) Power Description
Absorb (Grass) 19 The more damage dealt to the target, the more it restores the user’s HP.
Move Gauge Boost! n/a Charges the user’s move gauge by three.
Clear Smog (Poison) 63 Never misses. Returns the target’s raised stats to normal.
On the Ball! n/a Activates one of several additional effects at random. Restores the user’s HP by approximately 10% of its maximum HP. Removes all status conditions from all allied sync pairs. Raises the critical-hit rate of all allied sync pairs by one stat rank.
Name (Type) Power Description
Full of Surprises Poison Beam (Poison) 250 No additional effect.
Name Description
Destructive Touch 9 Leaves an opponent that attacked the user poisoned, paralyzed, or asleep when the user is hit by an attack move.
Underhanded Refresh 9 Restores one MP for the user’s moves when its attack move is successful against targets that are affected by a status condition.
Team Hit Me Up 9 Raises one of the following stats of all allied sync pairs by one stat rank at random when the user is hit by an attack move: Attack, Defense, Sp. Atk, Sp. Def, or Speed.
Name Conditions Effects
Poison Support Form a team with two or more sync pairs that share the same type. Raises the maximum HP of all allied sync pairs by 30.
Galar Support Form a team with two or more sync pairs that share the same theme. Raises the maximum HP of all allied sync pairs by 4.
Name Effect
Wistful ↑2 Raises the following Discovery Level by 2: Wistful Crystal

Ball Guy & Amoonguss can conceivably raise any stat rank with Team Hit Me Up 9!, but there’s always a bit of randomness. Since Shauntal & Chandelure can raise their Sp. Atk on their own with X Sp. Atk, they don’t need to rely on random stat boosts, but they do benefit nicely from the critical-hit rate boost On the Ball! provides. They can also use Ball Guy & Amoonguss’s Destructive Touch 9 to bolster their Hex move, which doubles in power when the target is affected by a status condition. Shauntal & Chandelure are available to scout from the general pool of 4★ sync pairs.

It’s important to keep a clear mind during battle, and that’s the key to success for Iris & Haxorus. The Dragon-type strike sync pair can deal plenty of damage with Outrage but will inevitably be left confused. This makes it difficult to string attacks together in a close battle. Thankfully, Ball Guy & Amoonguss can instantly clear up Iris & Haxorus’s confusion with On the Ball! And since Ball Guy & Amoonguss can use Underhanded Refresh 9 to regularly refresh On the Ball!, they’ll always be ready to help Iris & Haxorus wreak havoc. Iris & Haxorus can be obtained after completing Chapter 9 of the main story.
