Hollywood news keeps flowing in, and it’s time for another round-up!
Lucasfilm is shaking up the Star Wars movie slate, according to Variety. Marvel chief Kevin Feige is no longer participating in the active development of projects at Lucasfilm, which means that the Star Wars film he was reportedly working on in 2019 (see “Kevin Feige Working On ‘Star Wars’ Film“) is likely shelved. Meanwhile, Taika Waititi is working on his previously announced Star Wars feature, in which he will likely play a significant role, and Damon Lindelof is co-writing a feature with director Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy attached (see “Lindelof ‘Star Wars’ Film“). Patty Jenkins said in December that she was continuing to develop Rogue Squadron even though it remains off the schedule (see “‘Star Wars: Rogue Squadron’ Scrapped“).
Disney+ will bring back Jon Bernthal as The Punisher in the upcoming Daredevil: Born Again series, according to The Hollywood Reporter. He will join Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio as actor carryovers from the Netflix Marvel shows in the new series (see “Round-Up“).
Jenna Ortega is in talks to star in Beetlejuice 2, according to Variety. The Wednesday star (see “‘Wednesday’“) is looking at taking on the role of Lydia Deetz, played in the original movie by Winona Ryder.
Paramount Pictures released an international trailer for Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves (see below). This movie hits theaters on March 31, 2023 (see “Best in Shows — 2023“).
