Pokémon GO is being updated to a new version across all capable iOS and Android devices. The latest update is being rolled out to iOS and Android devices, respectively. According to patch notes from the development team at Niantic, the latest update implements various bug fixes and improvements for an overall smoother experience.

QoL Updates
- When Trainers open a Gift with “open Gifts when Item Bag is full” setting enabled, current in-game Stardust boosts will now apply to the amount of Stardust rewarded.
- Trainers should now be able to more reliably challenge each other in Special Live Event friendly battles.
- Pokémon now appear on Candy rewarded for research tasks and in the Journal to make the contents of rewards more clear.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed bug preventing Pokémon from appearing in some land areas in New Zealand after new Map update.
- Fixed bug preventing Scatterbug and Spewpa from having gender highlighted in the Pokédex.
- Fixed bug causing an error when quickly pinning and unpinning a Postcard.
- Fixed bug causing the map to momentarily change color after refreshing game data.
- Fixed visual bug causing Pokémon costumes to be delayed in moving along with the Pokémon’s animation.
- Fixed bug causing Pokémon size text to be in English regardless of the player’s chosen language.
- Fixed bug causing Shop item labels in German to be displayed incorrectly.
