It’s not a surprise that once again, Avatar: The Way of Water topped the weekend box office. The film grossed an estimated $20 million to bring its domestic total to $598.3 million. Over the week, it added about $43 million to its domestic total. Worldwide, the film has grossed $1.972 billion. It’s sure to cross the $2 billion mark any day now.
Puss in Boots: The Last Wish improved a slot from last week coming in second. The film added $11.5 million to its domestic total which now stands at $126.5 million. Internationally, it added $29.9 million to bring that total to a little over $171 million. Worldwide, the film has grossed $297.5 million.
M3GAN slipped to third with $9.8 million to bring its domestic total to $73.3 million. It also added $17.1 million over the week internationally to bring that to $51.3 million. Worldwide, the film has grossed $124.6 million.
Missing debuted in fourth with $9.3 million domestically. No international total has been reported.
A Man Called Otto rounded out the top five with $9 million to bring its domestic total to $35.3 million. Internationally, it added $5.5 million over the week to bring that total to $20 million and $55.3 million worldwide.
That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime the Movie: Scarlet Bond debuted in eighth place with $1.5 million. It has already earned $9.6 million at the international box office bring a worldwide total of a little over $11 million.
In comic film news…
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever slipped to tenth place and grossed $1.3 million to bring its domestic total to $451.7 million. Internationally, the film added about $1.6 million over the week to bring that to $387.3 million. Worldwide, the film has grossed over $839 million.
Black Adam‘s domestic gross looks like it hasn’t shifted and stands at $168.2 million. Over the week the international remained steady at $224.8 million. Worldwide, the film has grossed just under $393 million.
Evangelion: 3.0+1.01 Thrice Upon a Time looks to have ended its run. Domestically, it has grossed $810,744. Internationally, the film has already grossed $92.9 million for a worldwide gross of $93.7 million.
The week’s overall box office success…
Numbers have 29 films earning $73,665,434 from 32,556 theaters. That’s a dip of about a third from last weekend’s $102,978,834 from 33,247 theaters and 46 films. The average earning was $2,262.73 this past weekend, a drop from the previous weekend’s $3,097.39.
