Defend your sync pairs with Shauna & Chesnaught’s Spiky Shield in Pokémon Masters EX.
The Kalos villain arc is under way on Pasio, and Shauna & Chesnaught are prepared to protect their friends, as well as your sync pairs. Shauna & Chesnaught are a Grass-type support sync pair that proves the best offense is a great defense. Spiky Shield has Shauna & Chesnaught take up a defensive posture, nullifying the next move that hits them—and if the nullified move was physical, Spiky Shield deals damage back to the opposing sync pair. Spiky Shield can only be used twice (unless Shauna & Chesnaught’s MP is restored), so defend wisely!
Shauna & Chesnaught will be available to scout until February 5, 2023, at 9:59 p.m. PST.

It’s uncommon to have two support sync pairs on the same team, but these pairs from Kalos complement each other nicely. Professor Sycamore & Xerneas can fully raise the Sp. Atk, Sp. Def, and Speed stats of all allied sync pairs after using their sync move, Gentlemanly Geomancy, but can struggle to raise their Attack stat when only relying on their passive skill Team Shout 4. Shauna & Chesnaught fill this gap with Off We Go! and raise Professor Sycamore & Xerneas’s Attack and critical-hit rate. With these stats raised, Professor Sycamore & Xerneas can outlast opposing sync pairs as your team’s first target thanks to Horn Leech dealing huge damage and healing significant HP. Professor Sycamore & Xerneas can be acquired after completing Give and Take in the Legendary Adventures section of the main story.
Shauna & Chesnaught excel at supporting Grass-type sync pairs with a focus on physical damage, especially those that require a bit more time to set up. Off We Go! helps Selene & Decidueye fully raise their Attack and critical-hit rate in just a few moves. Since Selene & Decidueye won’t need to use X Attack twice with Shauna & Chesnaught on their team, they’ll be able to use Spirit Shackle earlier to activate the bonus damage multipliers from their passive skills Hold Hostage 5 and Hold and Hit 5. Selene & Decidueye are available to scout from the general pool of 5★ sync pairs, as well as from the 5★-Guaranteed Ticket Scout and 5★-Guaranteed Alola Ticket Scout.
