Free Guy Repeats in First Place while Paw Patrol: The Movie Takes Second

Free Guy took the top spot at the weekend box office for the second weekend in a row. The film dropped just 33.8% from the previous weekend and earned an estimated $18.8 million. Domestically, the film has grossed $58.8 million after two weeks. Internationally, the film grossed about $30.6 million over the week to bring that total to $53.1 million. Worldwide, the film has grossed $111.9 million.

In second place was Paw Patrol: The Movie which received a heavy push by Paramount. The film also premiered digitally on Paramount+. Domestically, the film grossed an estimated $13 million. Internationally, the film has grossed $21.5 million. The worldwide total stands at $34.5 million after one week.

Jungle Cruise held on to third place with an estimated $6.2 million. Domestically, the film has grossed $92.5 million after four weeks. Over the week, the film also grossed about $9 million to bring its international gross to $81.2 million. Worldwide, the film has earned $173.7 million.

Don’t Breathe 2 slipped to fourth place earning an estimated $5.1 million to bring its domestic gross to $19.7 million. Over the week, the film also grossed $4.1 million to bring that to $7.5 million. Worldwide, the film has grossed $27.2 million.

Rounding out the top five was Respect which earned an estimated $3.8 million to bring its domestic total to $15.1 million. Internationally, the film has grossed $569,000. Worldwide, the film has earned $15.7 million.

In comic films…

The Suicide Squad came in sixth place and earned an estimated $3.4 million to bring its domestic total to $49.3 million. Over the week, the film grossed $16.3 million to bring its international total to $91.5 million. Worldwide, the film has grossed $140.8 million.

Black Widow was #10 with an estimated $1.2 million to bring its domestic total to $180.2 million. The film has held steady at $189.6 million internationally. Worldwide, the film has grossed $369.8 million.

Old came in at #11 with an estimated $1.1 million to bring its domestic earnings to $45.2 million. Over the week, the film earned around $3.6 million at the international box office to bring that to $35.3 million. Worldwide, the film has grossed $80.5 million.

Initial numbers have 28 films earning $63,378,685 from 37,673 theaters. That’s down from last weekend’s 48 films which earned $75,601,843 from 35,206 theaters. It’s close to the results from two weekends ago. The average earning was $1,682.34 this past weekend, down from the previous weekend’s $2,147.41.
