Niantic has announced a new event for Pokémon GO. Read on below to learn more:

Morelull and Shiinotic light up Pokémon GO with their illuminating debuts.

Pokémon GO’s Festival of Lights will burn bright through October 17, 2022, at 8:00 p.m. local time. During this event, the Illuminating Pokémon, Morelull and Shiinotic, will make their brilliant debuts. These Grass- and Fairy-type Pokémon were originally discovered in sunny Alola, where there’s plenty of light.

The event will also be lit up with bonuses—you can look forward to double XP for catching Pokémon, an increased chance of encountering Shiny Chinchou, double Candy for catching Pokémon, and a two-hour duration for Incense (excluding Daily Adventure Incense) activated during the event. Certain Pokémon—including Blitzle, Litwick, Morelull, and Galarian Ponyta—will appear more often when Trainers use Incense during this event.

Pokémon with a penchant for light generation will also be roaming the wild. Throw on your avatar’s most stylish shades and keep an eye out for Pikachu, Vulpix, Magnemite, Chinchou, Litwick, Litleo, Helioptile, Dedenne, Morelull, and more. Especially lucky Trainers might even encounter Togedemaru and Galarian Ponyta! For a full list of Pokémon available in the wild, in raids, and as Field Research task encounters, visit Niantic’s official Pokémon GO site.

Light up Pokémon GO, Trainers!
