Red Sonja and her netherworld counterpart Hell Sonja will meet in Red Sonja/Hell Sonja, a new series by writer Jordan Clark (Samurai Sonja) and artist Miriana Puglia, coming later this year from Dynamite Entertainment.
The story starts with Hell Sonja escaping from a deteriorating Hell through a portal to Earth. There she turns to Red Sonja to help her fight back against the menacing creatures that have emerged from her home land.
The first issue will have covers by Lucio Parrillo, Lesley “Leirix” Li, Joseph Michael Linsner, and Rebeca Puebla, plus a cosplay cover by Rachel Hollon.
“It’s great to be back!” said Clark in a statement accompanying the announcement. “I’ve loved getting the chance to introduce Samurai Sonja, and this was an opportunity to try and stretch things even further. When the idea of a Red Sonja/Hell Sonja story was brought to me, my mind immediately went towards cosmic horror. For these two to team up again it would take quite the threat, and what bigger threat than your own sanity?”
