Dark Horse to Adapt ‘Farseer’ Trilogy into Comics

Dark Horse Comics  will launch a comics adaptation of the best-selling Farseer fantasy novel trilogy, starting with the first volume, Assassin’s Apprentice. The six-issue series will be co-written by Farseer author Robin Hobb (Megan Lindholm) and Jody Houser, with art by Ryan Kelly, coloring by Jordie Bellaire, and lettering by Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou. The first issue will be released on December 14, 2022, with a cover by Anna Steinbauer and an MSRP of $3.99.

Assassin’s Apprentice depicts the early life of Fitz, the illegitimate son of the heir to the throne of the Six Duchies, where he lives. Brought to the capital, Fitz trains to be an assassin, learns to practice a special type of magic, and becomes embroiled in the intrigues of the royal family.

Houser and Kelly previously worked together on the miniseries Stranger Things: Into the Fire (see “The Hunt for Nine Is on in ‘Stranger Things: Into the Fire’”).
