BOOM! Studios will publish a new one-shot, Book of Slaughter, that is set in the world of James Tynion IV and Werther Dell’Edera’s Something Is Killing the Children and the spinoff House of Slaughter. The one-shot, by Tynion IV, Dell’Edera, and colorist Miquel Muerto, focuses on a character who has been on the sidelines so far, White Mask Maxine Slaughter, and will set the stage for the next installments of the two series. The one-shot will also include a guidebook to the Order of St. George. Book of Slaughter will be published in December 2022 with covers by Dell’Edera, Dan Mora, Stephanie Hans, and Dylan Todd, with more to be announced.
This is the first one-shot in the Slaughterverse, but BOOM! released a special “Slaughter Pack” of single issues of Something Is Killing the Children earlier this year (see “BOOM! Offers ‘Slaughter Pack’”). The series was one of the top Author franchises of Fall 2021 (see “Top Author Graphic Novel Franchises – Fall 2021”).
