GrymWyrd Tales Volume 1 RPG Supplement Up On Kickstarter

July 22, 2022 by Polar_Bear

STONEworks Gaming is looking to bring something weird to your gaming table. Well, Grimweird, more specifically. All those sorts of strange bits from various stories of gothic and cosmic horror are here in a batch of scenarios for your D&D games. Their GrymWyrd Tales: Volume 1 is up on Kickstarter now.

From the campaign:

Grimweird is a type of fiction that is so absurdly fantastical as to be existentially horrific; or something so existentially horrific as to be absurdly fantastical. If I may be so bold – imagine tossing the works of Edgar Allen Poe, Lewis Carroll, & H.P. Lovecraft into a blender together, add an extra dose of lab-grade LSD, a dash of melancholic tragedy, and a few deep-fried tentacles just for flavor; all while a wide-eyed rabbit watches from the window as it recalls the words of Col. Kurtz. To put it another way – GrymWyrd Tales is Grimweird: a fresh expression of the strangest themes found within the Gothic, Folk, Cosmic, Supernatural, and Body Horror genres which blends them together in maddeningly unique ways that will be sure to leave a lasting impression of devastatingly disturbing fun upon your table.

These scenarios are not for the faint of heart! Some scenarios may be intended for mature audiences only, and may contain adult themes such as drug use, coarse language, and graphic illustrations of body horror and violence – and probably just a lot of absurd shit in general – though never for shock value alone. If that all sounds like gravy to you, then read on for the just desserts.

We’re bringing you all the gruesome and goofy goodness in an anthology series of stand alone adventures dressed up in vivid Victorian-style finery. Each adventure scenario will be roughly 12-24 pages in length, packed full of gruesome art, and will offer a deathly delightful variety of new content – all in an environmentally-friendly digital PDF format.

The campaign’s up and over its funding goal (Being fair, they weren’t asking for a lot) with 10 days left to go.
