Niantic has announced new events for Pokémon GO. Read on below to learn more:
Prepare for a ferocious day of research, raids, and bonuses in Pokémon GO.
What’s black and blue, has a pointy head, and is definitely a biter? The answer is Deino, the Irate Pokémon featured in Pokémon GO‘s June Community Day event on Saturday, June 25, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. local time. Throughout the day, this ferocious Dark- and Dragon-type Pokémon will appear more frequently in the wild. If you’re lucky, you might even find a mean, green Shiny one! Plus, if you evolve Zweilous (the Evolution of Deino) during the event or up to two hours after its conclusion, that Hydreigon will know the Charged Attack Brutal Swing, a Dark-type attack making its Pokémon GO debut.
June Community Day will also feature additional bonuses. Incense and Lure Modules activated during the event will last for three hours, you’ll earn twice as much Candy for catching Pokémon, and you’ll have double the chance of getting Deino Candy XL when you catch Deino. Plus, Pokémon trades between friends will require only half the regular amount of Stardust. You’ll even be able to make an additional Special Trade between June 24, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. and June 25, 2022, at 10:00 a.m.
You can work together with other Trainers to unlock additional bonuses throughout the event. Catching enough Pokémon attracted to a single Lure Module will attract wild Zweilous near the PokéStop where the Lure was installed. Tickets for a Deino Community Day–exclusive Special Research story titled Field Notes: Deino will be available in the in-game shop for US$1 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency). Remember that you can treat a friend to a Special Research ticket by tapping the Special Research ticket in the in-game shop, then tapping the Gift button.
You’ll also be able to extend your June Community Day experience by participating in unique four-star raids. On June 25, 2022, from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. local time, look for blue-colored Raid Eggs appearing on top of Gyms and prepare to take on Zweilous. Defeating the Hostile Pokémon in a Raid Battle will cause Deino to appear in the wild in a 300-meter radius of the Gym for the next 30 minutes—along with an increased chance of finding a Shiny Deino! These four-star raids are not accessible via Remote Raid Passes and can only be accessed with Raid Passes or Premium Battle Passes.

Bonus Raid Battles after Community Day

We’re excited to announce that Trainers can look forward to even more fun during June Community Day! After the three-hour Community Day event ends, Trainers will be able to challenge unique four-star Raid Battles. Claiming victory in one of these raids will cause more Deino to appear around the Gym that hosted the raid for 30 minutes!
Please note that the Community Day bonuses listed above in the “Event bonuses” and “Bonuses for groups” sections only apply to the three-hour Community Day event period.
Four-star Raid Battles
Zweilous will be appearing in four-star raids! Band together with your fellow Trainers to emerge victorious!
These Raids can only be accessed with Raid Passes and Premium Battle Passes. Remote Raid Passes cannot be used.
Bonus for completing Four-star Raid Battles
Once you defeat Zweilous in a four-star Raid Battle, Deino will begin to appear in a 300-meter radius around the Gym that hosted the raid for 30 minutes. If you’re lucky, you may encounter a Shiny one!*
Community Day Special Research story: Field Notes: Deino
- For US$1.00 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency), you’ll be able to access the Deino Community Day–exclusive Special Research story, Field Notes: Deino.

- Remember, you can give a ticket to a friend so they can experience this Community Day’s Special Research too!* To gift a ticket, tap the Special Research ticket in the in-game shop, then tap the Gift button instead of the Buy button.
- Certain restrictions apply. Gifting cannot be completed if the recipient has purchased a Special Research ticket or has been gifted one already.
Stickers
You’ll be able to get event-themed stickers by spinning PokéStops, opening Gifts, and purchasing them from the in-game shop.
