Day 2 of the 2022 Pokémon Vancouver Regionals featuring Pokémon GO, Pokémon VG and Pokémon TCG now underway, tune in to the livestreams here

The Pokémon Company is continuing to host new events as part of the official Pokémon Championship Series. Read on below to learn more:

You can battle in Pokémon TCG, video game, and Pokémon GO Regional Championships, which take place all over the world. After the Pokémon International Championships, the Pokémon Regional Championships are the largest events in terms of both attendance and Championship Point payouts.

  • Up to $50,000 in prizes, scholarships, and gift cards (based on attendance; up to $65,000 when Pokémon GO is also held)
  • No qualifications or residency restrictions to enter TCG or video game events

Pokémon TCG players need to bring their own legal 60-card deck for the Standard format. Pokémon video game players must bring their own game system, their own Pokémon Sword or Pokémon Shield game, and a legal Pokémon team. Pokémon GO players must have a legal Pokémon team on their Pokémon GO account.

In order to participate, players must have a Pokémon Trainer Club account, be in good standing with the Play! Pokémon program, and comply with current COVID-19 requirements for large Pokémon events.

Registration for these events is handled by the Tournament Organizer, and an entry fee may be charged at their discretion. Many Regional Championships require online registration, and events may sell out. Please check the Event Locator for details about each event, including information regarding registration.

All Pokémon TCG Regional Championships will use the Standard format, though some may have Expanded side events. Pokémon Video Game Championship Series events will be played on Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield for the whole 2022 season. Pokémon GO events will use the Great League format.

Most Regional Championships have both Pokémon TCG and video game competitions, and some also feature Pokémon GO. Some events may be exclusive to Pokémon TCG players or VGC players. See the table below for more details.

Regional Championships main events take place on Saturday and Sunday. Event listings that include a Friday date feature side events and smaller competitions on that day.

The below event schedule is subject to change pending COVID regulations, and some event dates may move or be canceled outright. Please check with the Tournament Organizer for the most up-to-date information. We will do our best to give players as much notice as we can if an event is canceled, but that information may be available through the Tournament Organizer for that event first.

While we prefer not to cancel events, the safety and well-being of our community is our top priority. Due to changes in government regulations and restrictions in the state of Florida, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the Florida Regional Championships.
