Wizards of the Coast unveiled more product line details for Double Masters 2022, a new Magic: The Gathering premium set, for release on July 7, 2022.
This premium set is one of the most highly anticipated sets of the summer as it features sought-after reprints like Kozilek, Butcher of Truth; Liliana, the Last Hope; and Wrenn and Six. As previously reported (see “‘Double Masters 2022’“), Double Masters 2022 will come in Draft Boosters and Collector Boosters. Like the last Double Masters set (see “‘Magic: The Gathering’ ‘Double Masters’ Set“), each pack will have at least 2 cards of rare or mythic rarity in them. Thus far, WotC has not announced a VIP Edition for this set (see “‘Double Masters VIP Edition’“) and seems to have gone back to the Collector Boosters instead. However, the Collector Booster displays for this set only come with four packs each, which will likely put each pack’s price point on the higher end like the VIP Edition packs.
The product line information is as follows:
Double Masters 2022 Draft Booster Packs and Displays. These packs are optimized for booster draft and will contain 16 Magic: The Gathering cards and a token/ad card. They will feature a combination of 2 to 4 cards of a rare rarity or higher, 3 to 5 uncommons, 8 to 10 commons, and a land card. Two cards in the pack will be traditional foils. Traditional foil borderless mythic Planeswalkers will be included in less than 1% of boosters. Displays come with 24 boosters.
Double Masters 2022 Collector Booster Packs and Displays. These boosters are aimed at higher-end collectors and come with 15 cards and a traditional foil double-sided token. Each pack contains a combination of 4 cards of a rare rarity or higher, 2 to 6 uncommons, and 5–9 commons. Every pack will feature 10–11 traditional foil cards and a rare or mythic rare foil-etched card. Textured foil borderless cards will come in 3% of these boosters. Displays of this product will only contain four packs.
