Read Four of DC’s Eisner-Nominated Comics…for Free!

Obviously, we love the comics we publish over here, but we’re still pretty blown away over how many DC books, artists and writers were honored with Eisner nominations this year. Acclaimed titles like Nightwing, Superman: Red & Blue and Wonder Woman Historia: The Amazons along with DC talent including Tom Taylor, James Tynion IV, Tom King, Ram V, Bruno Redondo, Jen Bartel and Phil Jimenez all received nods. In total, DC came away with fifteen nominations plus seven shared ones for a total of twenty-two chances at Eisners.

For any of you who don’t know, the Eisner Awards—or more formally, the Will Eisner Comic Industry Awards—are given for creative excellence within the comic book industry. They’re seen by many as the comic book equivalent of the Oscars. Each year the nominations are chosen by a specially selected jury and then voted on by comic industry professionals before being awarded at San Diego Comic-Con.

We know you’re a DC fan, so chances are you’ve read at least some of the nominated comics, but if you haven’t yet, now’s your chance. From now until June, we’re making four nominated comics completely free-to-read on DC UNIVERSE INFINITE (you will need to register—but it’s free and you only have to do it once). The four comics are Nightwing #78 (the beginning of Tom Taylor and Bruno Redondo’s nominated run), Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow #1, The Nice House on the Lake #1 and Superman: Red & Blue #5 (which includes Daniel Warren Johnson’s nominated short story, “Generations”). You can find all of them, along with other free-to-read DC UNIVERSE INFINITE comics, by clicking here.

As for when you’ll find out which of the nominees have won, the Eisner Awards ceremony is being held the evening of July 22, so look for the winners to be announced then!
