HBO has released a trailer (below), which uses Lou Reed’s “Perfect Day” as its soundtrack, for the fourth season of Westworld, which will premiere on the pay channel and sister streamer HBO Max on June 26. The renewal of the hit series was announced over two years ago as the Covid pandemic was beginning (see “’Westworld’ Renewed“). Oscar winner Ariana DeBose (West Side Story) joins the cast for S4.

Amazon has released a trailer for The Boys Season 3 (trailer below), which will premiere on Prime Video on June 3. The Boys Presents: Diabolical, an eight-episode adult animated anthology series also tied to the Dynamite Entertainment graphic novel property, dropped on the streamer in March (see “Trailer for ‘The Boys Presents’“).

James Cameron has released the first trailer for Avatar: The Way of Water, the long-awaited sequel to the top-grossing movie of all time, Avatar, which was released in 2009. Shooting was completed last fall, and at the time shooting on the third film in the franchise was nearly complete as well (see “’Avatar 2’ Shooting Complete“). Nearly 150 million people watched the trailer in the first 24 hours after release, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The film will be released on December 16 (see “Geek Movie Calendar“).

The CW has ordered Gotham Knights to series after production of a pilot, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The story follows the rebellious adopted son of the murdered Bruce Wayne, who joins with the children of Batman’s enemies, who were framed for Batman’s murder, to protect Gotham. It is not, as previously rumored, tied to the upcoming Gotham Knights videogame, according to the report. Meanwhile, Naomi has joined the list of canceled DC series at The CW, along with Batwoman and Legends of Tomorrow (see “The CW Cancels Two“), according to Variety, leaving Gotham Knights, The Flash, Superman & Lois, and Stargirl as the current DC series on the network.

Crunchyroll will release Dragon Ball Super: SUPER HERO to theaters in North America this summer, the companies announced.  This is the second Dragon Ball Super feature; the first, Dragon Ball Super: Broly, was released in 2018. The film will be released globally in both subtitled and dubbed versions (subtitled trailer below).

Marvel has released a second trailer for Ms. Marvel (below), the new series premiering on Disney+ on June 8. Iman Vellani will star as Kamala Khan in the series. A first trailer was released in March (see “’Ms. Marvel’ Trailer“). Source: ICv2
