Dewpider and Araquanid debut during the Pokémon GO Water Festival event, players can also now encounter Lapras wearing a scarf, battle Tapu Fini in raids and earn bonus items during this event

You can also encounter Lapras wearing a scarf, battle Tapu Fini in raids, and earn bonus items during this event.

Watch for puddles as Pokémon GO‘s Water Festival begins! Through Friday, May 20, 2022, at 8:00 p.m. local time, you’ll see Lapras wearing a scarf and Dewpider making waves as they debut in Pokémon GO. Araquanid is also debuting—you can use 50 Dewpider Candy to evolve Dewpider into Araquanid. Plus, for the first time in Pokémon GO, you can encounter Shiny Binacle, if you’re lucky—and be on the lookout for the Legendary Pokémon Tapu Fini in raids.

The Water Festival brings with it a wave of bonuses. Rainy Lure Modules activated during the event will last for two hours, and you’ll earn twice the Candy and have an increased chance to get Candy XL from hatching Eggs. If you want to get your avatar ready for the festivities, a Water Festival Scarf avatar item is available in the in-game shop.

Timed Research focused on catching Pokémon will be available throughout the event, and by completing it, you can earn 50 Gyarados Mega Energy, 1,000 XP, 1,000 Stardust, and encounters with Dewpider and Lapras wearing a scarf. There are also Field Research tasks, which will earn you Blastoise Mega Energy and Gyarados Mega Energy.

Additionally, the Season of Alola‘s fourth Special Research story is now available, so don’t forget to have a little tropical fun during this water-logged celebration.

Dive in with Trainers all over the world to complete the Global Challenge happening during the Water Festival. Until Saturday, May 21, 2022, at 1:00 a.m. PDT, work with other Trainers to catch an ocean full of Water-type Pokémon. If a total of 600 million Water-type Pokémon are caught during the challenge, a double Catch Candy bonus will go into effect for everyone for the remainder of the event.
