Niantic updates list of Pokémon GO known issues currently being investigated by its engineering team as of today, August 5

Niantic has updated the official Known Issues support page for Pokémon GO. Read on below to learn more:

Known Issues

Here is where you can find a list of issues currently being investigated by our engineering team. This list will be updated regularly, and issues will be added and removed as they are discovered and resolved. Please note that this is not a comprehensive list of all issues we are aware of or working to fix. You can find the list of known issues related to GO Battle League here

Pokémon with an evolution that has a walking requirement will look like the accumulated distance has been reset.
Issue description: A Pokémon whose evolution requires that the Trainer walk with the Pokémon for a certain amount of distance will look like its distance so far towards completing this task has been reset if the Pokémon is not currently the Trainer’s Buddy. However, once a Trainer sets the Pokémon as a Buddy again, the accumulated distance will be shown. This is a side effect of a visual improvement to the walking distance requirement for evolutions.
Issue status: Resolved if a Trainer sets the Pokémon as a Buddy again.
Trainers using the Pokémon Trainer Club method to login were signed out periodically.
Issue description: Trainers who use Pokémon Trainer Club method to login to their Pokémon GO account had to repeatedly sign back in to continue playing, interrupting gameplay. They may have also received a server error message.
Issue status: Resolved in release (0.215.1)
Trainers were not receiving in-app notifications regarding unread support tickets.
Issue description: After fixing a bug that prevented Trainers from receiving in-app Support ticket notifications, any Trainer with an unread Support ticket at the time of the bug fix received an in-app notification regardless of the ticket’s age. Any Trainers who feel they need extra assistance should reach out to Support.
Issue status: Resolved
Trainers’ Daily PokéStop Spin streaks will count if they attempt to spin a PokéStop even if their Item Bag is full.
Issue description: Trainers will not be able to successfully receive their seven day Daily PokéStop spin streak rewards if their Item Bag is full, but their spin streak will be marked as completed.
Issue status: Resolved in upcoming release (0.217)
Costumed Raid Boss Pokémon lose costume if caught after the end of a special event.
Issue description: A costumed Raid Boss during a special event will lose its costume if it is caught after the event ends, even if the Raid Battle takes place right before the end time of the event. For GO Fest trainers battling close to the end of each day, please be advised that GO Fest ends at 6pm local time on July 17th and July 18th.
Issue status: Investigating
Costumed Pokemon from certain events may not display properly in the Pokédex.
Issue description:
 Some costumed Pokemon, such as Galarian Zigzagoon and Galarian Ponyta, may load as a ball of white light when trying to view them in the Pokédex.
Issue status: Investigating

Trainers may receive the wrong dialogue from Professor Willow during Special Research.
Issue description:
 If you have an outstanding choice from a previous Special Research and make a choice on new Special Research, you will receive the dialogue from the previous Special Research choice. However, this is only visual, and you will receive the correct rewards from your current Special Research.
Issue status: Investigating. If you encounter this issue and wish to see what Professor Willow has said, you can click on the Professor Willow icon for that Special Research to revisit his dialogue.

Trainers using certain Samsung devices experience a weather effect flash.
Issue description: 
For certain Samsung devices, particularly those outside the United States, Trainers may see a brief flash caused by weather effects when they’re on the map view.
Issue status: Mitigated on release by removing certain map effects. Resolved in an upcoming release (0.217)
In-app purchases may take up to 72 hours to appear in a Trainer’s Item Bag.
Issue description: 
A small percentage of Trainers may experience a delay of up to 72 hours after making an in-app purchase for the item to appear in their Item Bag.
Issue status: Mitigated in (0.213) and we are continuing to investigate the root cause. If you have not received your item in over 72 hours, or if you are blocked from accessing an event because of this issue, please contact Support with your purchase receipt including the purchase order number and the e-mail address matching your Pokémon GO account.
Trainers experienced increased data usage when playing.
Issue description: 
The Pokémon GO app used an increased amount of data in the last few weeks.
Issue status: Resolved
Pokémon appear in Pokédex in all forms when only one form has been caught.
Issue Description: 
When a Trainer catches a Pokémon, all forms of that Pokémon will appear in the Pokédex even if the Trainer has not yet caught the alternate forms of that Pokémon.
Issue status: Resolved in upcoming release (0.219)

Shiny Pokémon may not appear in Pokédex.
Issue Description: 
Encountered or caught Shiny Pokémon may not appear as an entry in the Pokédex.
Issue status: Resolved

Some Trainers may see a visual bug where the Gym Badges are displaying incorrectly.
Issue description: Gym Badges will appear without a title or with an incorrect title and will display the EX-Raid and Pikachu icons.
Issue status: Resolved
Promotion codes from the “We’ve missed you, Trainer” e-mail are not able to be redeemed.
Issue description: When Trainers attempt to redeem the promotion code from the “We’ve missed you, Trainer” e-mail, they are given the warning “Passcode must at least contain 13 characters” and are unable to redeem the code.
Issue status: Investigating, please contact Niantic Support with a screenshot of the redemption page including your Trainer username associated with the code if you are experiencing this issue.
When navigating to a Mega Pokémon’s Pokédex entry, the entry shown is Bulbasaur.
Issue description: When a Trainer Mega Evolves one of their Pokémon, and attempts to navigate to that Mega Evolved Pokémon’s Pokédex entry, they are shown the Pokédex entry for Bulbasaur instead.
Issue status: Investigating
Friends page online status sorting does not work.
Issue description:
 When using the Friends page sorting option “online”, friends who are currently online will not float to the top of the page. Trainers are still able to see which friends are online, but they will not be sorted.
Issue status: Investigating
Espeon and Umbreon appear on the evolve button at the wrong times of the day.
Issue description: This is a visual bug, if Eevee is evolved during the day, Eevee will correctly evolve into Espeon; if Eevee is evolved at night, Eevee will correctly evolve into Umbreon, as intended.
Issue status: Resolved in an upcoming release
The event ticket information displayed is sometimes incorrect for certain users.
Issue description: The information on event tickets sometimes incorrectly displays the text for past events. This is a visual bug and purchasing this ticket still successfully lets Trainers access the intended event. This issue sometimes can be resolved by closing and re-opening the app, refreshing the game data in Settings, or uninstalling and reinstalling the app.
Issue status: Resolved in release (0.215)
Trainers have recurring issues with Adventure Sync on iOS devices.
Issue description:
 Trainers may experience issues enabling or disabling Adventure Sync, or may experience inaccurate distance tracking.
Issue status: Investigating

Trainer receives an “ERROR_GIFT_DOES_NOT_EXIST” notification when attempting to open a gift from a Friend.
Issue description: Sometimes when a Trainer selects a gift they’ve received from a Friend, the gift disappears and they are given a “ERROR_GIFT_DOES_NOT_EXIST” notification. The gift then disappears from their inventory and items are not received.
Issue status: Investigating

Evolving a Buddy sometimes causes the game to crash and get stuck on the post-login warning.
Issue description: Sometimes Trainers evolve their Buddy, and find that their Buddy disappears. This can be resolved if the Trainer is able to add a Buddy from any of their existing Pokémon while the game is still responsive. However, if they are unable to do so, the game will eventually become unresponsive and lock the player into the “Do not trespass” or “Do not drive” warnings indefinitely.
Issue status: Resolved in upcoming release. Please contact Support via this form if this is affecting you and we can resolve it on your behalf.
In-app news displays the incorrect text.
Issue description: The news within the app is not displaying correctly for Trainers.
Issue status: Mitigated
