Wizards of the Coast unveiled the product line details for Magic: The Gathering – D&D Commander Legends: Battle for Baldur’s Gate, which will release on June 10, 2022.
This product is one of the most anticipated Magic sets of 2022 (see “Wizards of the Coast Previews ‘Magic: The Gathering’ ‘Commander Legends: Battle for Baldur’s Gate’“). The expectations for this product are high, especially after how well received the first Commander Legends set was (see “TCGplayer Top 25 Sealed TCG Products – October 2020“). This time around, WotC has added a few new sealed offerings to the mix. Unlike the first set (see “‘Commander Legends’ Product Line“), this product line features Set Boosters, a Bundle, and Prerelease Packs. WotC has also branded it with the D&D label, as it is themed with characters and monster from Baldur’s Gate lore (see “D&D Live 2019: The Descent’ Livestream“).
The new product line shakes out as follows:
D&D Commander Legends: Battle for Baldur’s Gate Draft Booster Packs and Displays. Each pack comes with 20 Magic cards optimized for draft. One to four cards in every pack will have a rarity of rare or higher, and each pack comes with a traditional foil card. Cases come with six displays, and each display has 24 booster packs.
D&D Commander Legends: Battle for Baldur’s Gate Set Booster Packs and Displays. These packs come with 15 cards per booster, which includes one foil-etched card, a traditional foil, and an art card in every pack. Between 1-7 cards in every Set pack are of rarity Rare or higher. Cases come with six booster displays.
D&D Commander Legends: Battle for Baldur’s Gate Collector Packs and Displays. The Collector boosters feature 2 foil-etched and 10 traditional foils in every pack with 6 cards of rarity of rare or higher. The Extended-Art cards are exclusive to these packs for this set. Each pack comes with 15 cards and a foil token, and they are packed in displays of 12 boosters.
D&D Commander Legends: Battle for Baldur’s Gate Commander Decks. These decks come with 100 cards and are ready-to-play in the Commander format. Each deck consists of three traditional foil cards and 97 nonfoil cards, and these decks introduce 10 cards not found in the main set. Additionally, the deck includes a two-card Collector Booster Sample Pack, 10 double-sided tokens, a foil-etched Display Commander, a life tracker, and a deck box. The decks come four to a case.
D&D Commander Legends: Battle for Baldur’s Gate Bundle. The bundles come with eight D&D Commander Legends: Battle for Baldur’s Gate Set Booster Packs. They also include a foil alt-art promo, 40 basic lands (20 foil + 20 nonfoil), a spindown life counter, and storage box. Six bundles come in a case.
D&D Commander Legends: Battle for Baldur’s Gate Prerelease Packs. Prerelease packs are for use at the prerelease events, which run from June 3-9, 2022. Each pack comes with 3 Draft boosters, a foil, year-stamped rare or mythic rare, a Dungeon card, and an MTG Arena code card. These come 15 to a case.
