Lucky Duck Games will release It’s a Wonderful Kingdom, a new low-fantasy standlone board game, into U.S. retail in August 2022.
It’s a Wonderful Kingdom has core mechanics inspired by its predecessor, 2019’s It’s a Wonderful World (see “‘It’s a Wonderful World’“). It’s a Wonderful Kingdom is a standalone solo or two-player game played using modules that each have different mechanical features. Some of the new mechanics used in this game are “Split and Trap,” where players alternate their hands between two piles, and “Planification,” where players choose which cards to build and which ones to recycle for later. The game goes through four production rounds, and at the end, the player with the most victory points wins.
The game box comes with 130 cards, a game board, 3 Quest boards, 90 translucent cubes, 46 tokens, a dry erase scoreboard, a dry erase marker, and a rulebook. This game is for one to two players, ages 14 and up, and plays in 45-60 minutes.
