If you’re a Pokémon Professor
in the Play! Pokémon Professor Program, you now have access to Professor University (or
Prof U, for short), a brand-new library of content produced to help guide your
journey in interpreting and applying the Play! Pokémon rules documentation. The
available content is adapted from Professor Seminar sessions or recorded
especially for Prof U by community members, and it’s organized into courses,
each one focusing on a particular area of Professorship.
There are currently Basic & Stage 1 Trading Card Game
Judge courses, Basic & Stage 1 VG Judge courses, and an Organizing
Tournaments course for you to peruse. In the near future, this will expand to
include such courses as Organizing Premier Events, Community Consciousness, and
Teaching the Pokémon TCG. You can work through and complete courses for your
own personal growth at present, but in the future you may be asked to complete
certain modules or courses in order to gain eligibility for certain Professor
roles.
Past Professor Webinar broadcasts are all available to view
in a dedicated “on-demand” section, and you will also register for future live
Webinars through Professor University instead of the Organized Play forums. As
new Webinars are added to the schedule, they will be advertised on Professor
University before other platforms.
The Resources section collects useful links and documents
such as Pokemon.com’s Rules
& Resources and the Pokémon TCG Rulings Compendium. Additionally, you
can find information such as patch notes for Pokémon Event Manager (PEM),
variant versions of the Performance Evaluation form, and formats from past Professor
Cups.
From this section, you will also be able to access the
Organized Play Forums, the Disqualification Report form, and the Professor Store
(when it reopens).
Pokémon Professors will find Professor University at professoruniversity.pokemon.com.
Before logging in, you will need to open a support ticket through Customer
Service to confirm your status as a Pokémon Professor and to get an
enrollment key. Be sure to use the subject line “Apply to Prof U” to make sure
your application gets to the board of admission. You will then be able to input
the enrollment key into the “Sign Up” area on the site to create your account.
Professor University is currently separate from the
Professor activity and exams that exist on Pokemon.com. Although we may start
to require certificates in certain Prof U courses before you can, for example,
translate at a large event or host a Professor Seminar, you should still
prioritize keeping your Professor status current over at Pokemon.com.
The Professor University site and all its content is
currently only available in English, but more languages will be supported in
the future. Prof U will continue to expand over the remainder of 2021, and we
invite you early adopters to come along for the ride. If you’re not a Pokémon
Professor and are interested in becoming one, visit the Become
a Pokémon Professor page to learn more.
Thank you for your passion and dedication in helping Play!
Pokémon programs continue to thrive over the last few years!
