Venus Makes Her Comics Debut in ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ #127

The first female member of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will make her first appearance in the comics in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #127.  Venus debuted as a character in the first episode of the live-action television show Ninja Turtles: The Next Mutation in 1997. Reactions were mixed, and she pretty much disappeared after the show was canceled, although an alien lookalike appeared in TMNT Vol. 3 #12. Since then, the Turtles have added another female character, Jennika, who was introduced in TMNT #95 in 2019.

Writer Sophie Campbell and artist Pablo Tunica will bring Venus back in the current storyline, in which the Turtles investigate the laboratory of the enigmatic Dr. Barlow. The storyline will continue through issue #130 and Venus will also appear in the TMNT Free Comic Book Day comic.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #127 will go on sale on March 15 with cover A by Tunica, cover B by Turtles co-creator Kevin Eastman, and a Retailer Incentive cover by Jared Collum, who won a Reuben Award for Kodi.
