Day 1 of December 2021 Pokémon GO Community Day now underway in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and India from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. local time

Niantic has announced a new event for Pokémon GO. Read on below to learn more:

Bolster your team with Pokémon featured during Community Day events in 2020 and 2021.

December’s Pokémon GO Community Day is a special two-day event that invites you to look back on the Pokémon partners you’ve befriended during past Community Day events. On Saturday, December 18, 2021, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Sunday, December 19, 2021, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time, Pokémon featured during 2021’s Community Day events will appear more frequently in the wild, while Pokémon that starred in 2020’s Community Day events will be hatching from Eggs and appearing in raids. It’s a great opportunity to catch any Pokémon you may have missed, and there will be an array of bonuses that’ll make the celebration all the sweeter.

Certain Pokémon will be appearing in the wild during each day of the event, but each Pokémon listed below will also be attracted to Incense and Lure Modules on both days. If you’re lucky, you might find a Shiny Pokémon!

Saturday, December 18

  • Machop

  • Roselia

  • Swablu

  • Gible

  • Snivy

  • Fletchling

Sunday, December 19

  • Eevee

  • Duskull

  • Shinx

  • Tepig

  • Oshawott

Any Eevee that you catch during the event will know the Charged Attack Last Resort.

Throughout the weekend, look for these Pokémon to appear in raids and hatch from 2 km Eggs. If you’re lucky, you might find a Shiny one!

  • Weedle

  • Abra

  • Gastly

  • Rhyhorn

  • Electabuzz (raids)

  • Magmar (raids)

  • Magikarp

  • Porygon

  • Elekid (Eggs)

  • Magby (Eggs)

  • Seedot

  • Piplup

Each Pokémon appearing during the December 2021 Community Day weekend will be able to learn the featured attacks from their respective 2020 and 2021 Community Day events. To teach a Pokémon such an attack, you’ll need to evolve it to its final Evolution between Friday, December 17, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. and Monday, December 20, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. PST (GMT −8).

From Friday, December 17, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. to Sunday, December 19, 2021, at 11:59 p.m. PST (GMT −8), trading Pokémon will cost 25% less Stardust, and you’ll be able to make an additional Special Trade each day. During the event, Incense and Lure Modules will both last for three hours, and you’ll earn twice as much XP and Stardust for catching Pokémon. Finally, Eggs placed in Incubators during the event will hatch in half the usual distance.

Special Research tasks will be available from Friday, December 17, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. to Monday, December 20, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. PST (GMT −8). You can also enjoy Timed Research focused on the Pokémon that’ll be appearing during the Community Day weekend, as well as Field Research tasks that’ll reward you with Mega Energy for the following Pokémon.

Tickets for a Special Research story will be available in the in-game shop for US$1.00 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency).

Starting on Thursday, December 15, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. PST (GMT −8), you can visit the shop to upgrade your Pokémon storage and Item Bag to new limits: 5,500 for Pokémon storage and 4,500 for the Item Bag.

As we say goodbye to 2021, let’s take a look back at the Community Day events we shared together.

This year’s final Community Day event will be held on Saturday, December 18, 2021, and Sunday, December 19, 2021. Throughout the event, Pokémon featured in Community Day events throughout 2021 will be appearing more frequently in the wild, while Pokémon featured in Community Day events throughout 2020 will be hatching from Eggs and appearing in raids, so this event will be a great time for you to catch Pokémon featured in any Community Day events you may have missed!

Pokémon Storage and Item Bag Cap Increase

To help you prepare for the biggest Community Day event of the year, the maximum amount that the Pokémon storage and Item Bag can be expanded to will be increased! Be sure to purchase Item Bag and Pokémon Storage expansions from the shop so you can stock up on Poké Balls and store all the Pokémon you’ll catch during December Community Day!

  • Pokémon Storage Expansion Cap: 5,000 -> 5,500
  • Item Bag Expansion Cap: 4,000 -> 4,500

This change will go into effect on Thursday, December 16, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. PST (GMT -8).
