Niantic has announced a new season for Pokémon GO. Read on below to learn more:
Encounter different Pokémon in the wild, enjoy monthly bonuses, and make the most of Community Days and special events.
The Season of Mischief has ended, making way for the equally exciting Season of Heritage. Pokémon GO‘s newest season runs through March 1, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. local time. During the Season of Heritage, you can expect a different rotation of wild Pokémon, exciting monthly bonuses like increased Stardust and XP, and the past to become a key focal point.
Seasonal Timed Research will focus on collaborating with Professor Willow and Pokémon GO Team Leaders to explore the mysteries of the past to gain a better understanding of the Pokémon world’s present and future. The entire season culminates in a thrilling GO Tour: Johto event taking place on February 26 and 27, 2022. This Timed Research will be led by a different Team Leader each month and will be directly tied to special bonuses that will be in effect during that month.
In December, help Team Leader Blanche by participating in the Timed Research Stardust Challenge while enjoying double Stardust for the first Pokémon catch of the day. You can also earn Stardust rewards and an exclusive Deino Hat. In January, assist Team Leader Spark by participating in the Timed Research XP Challenge and earn double XP for the first catch of the day. XP rewards and an exclusive Goomy Hat are also there for the taking. And in February, work with Team Leader Candela to complete the Timed Research Catch Challenge, earning increased Candy XL for hatching Eggs and double XP for hatching Eggs, as well as a chance to unlock an exclusive Noibat Hat.
While the Season of Heritage boasts many exciting events, the first will be taking place on December 5, 2021, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time with Swinub Incense Day. During this period, Incense will be modified to attract more Ice- and Ground-type Pokémon like Swinub as part of a research activation.
On December 7, 2021, the Dragonspiral Descent event sees another Pokémon GO debut when Professor Willow catches sight of the Dragon-type Druddigon, kicking off some important Research Tasks.
As always, Community Days are an excellent opportunity to catch Pokémon while earning useful bonuses. The first two Season of Heritage Community Days will be taking place December 18–19, 2021, and January 16, 2022. Mark your calendars and keep an eye out for future Community Day announcements.
