Penguin Random House imprint Inklore will launch its Eleceed webtoon collections in January, leading into the anime release in April. Eleceed Vol. 1 will collect episodes 1-17 of the Korean webtoon, by Jeho Son with art by Zhena, in a 320-page, 5-3/4″ x 8-1/4″ trade paperback. The webtoon currently runs on the WEBTOON platform, where it has 2.3 million subscribers and almost 500 million views.
The anime, produced by TOKYOPOP and MBC Anime, ,along with a group of partners including Amuse Bilibili, and AND, among others (see “TOKYOPOP Jumps Into Anime”), will be released via Crunchyroll in April (English trailer below).
The story features a well-meaning young man who uses his lightning-fast reflexes to save endangered children, find lost pets, and do other good deeds, and a superpowered secret agent who is trapped in the body of a plump, elderly cat.
Inklore’s Eleceed launch was originally announced (although for 2026) as part of a 14-title deal with Webtoon Entertainment in 2025 (see “14-Title Deal“).
Eleceed Vol. 1 will be released on January 19, 2027 at $23.00 MSRP.
