Marvel Comics has teamed up with WEBTOON for a new digital comics app that will replace its current Marvel Unlimited digital service.
The new app, which will launch on November 16, 2026, was created by WEBTOON for use on mobile devices and the web and will carry over 35,000 titles at launch. The catalog will include both current and older series, including Marvel Comics, Star Wars, and 20th Century comics, and will add more content from the Disney portfolio. The app will support both traditional page-based and vertical scroll comics.
Pricing is comparable to Marvel Unlimited: The base tier is $9.99 per month, or $69.99 per year, and allows readers access to the full Marvel Comics library but only to older material; new issues will be delayed by at least three months from their print release. The Ultimate Tier, priced at $12.49 per month or $99.99 per year, offers new issues as soon as 30 days after release. The app is launching with a limited-time introductory offer of $59.99 for the first year of the Ultimate tier.
Marvel’s existing digital comics app, Marvel Unlimited, will begin shutting down on December 7, 2026. Once the new Marvel app is up, current Marvel Unlimited subscribers can migrate their library to the new app, including saved comics and reading progress, as long as they do it before December 7. The Marvel Unlimited app stopped accepting new sign-ups as of October 5, and no new content will be added after December 7. Comics will also be unavailable via the app as of that date, although members will be able to browse their library until December 21 in order to ensure their issues are transferred. The service will go dark on December 21.
Active Marvel Unlimited subscribers will receive a pro-rated refund for the remainder of their subscription term.
The new Marvel app will have a new cover-scroll interface and will offer recommendations based on previous reading, as well as character and creator pages and a Pull List feature that alerts readers to new releases.
Disney and WEBTOON inked the agreement to collaborate on a digital comics app in September 2025 (see “Disney and WEBTOON Team Up“). Marvel Unlimited, originally named Marvel Digital Comics Unlimited, was launched in 2007 (see “Marvel Launches Subscription Site“).
