Renegade, Hasbro Renew Games License

Renegade Game Studios and Hasbro have renewed their agreement for Renegade to produce tabletop games featuring Hasbro properties, the companies announced.  The term of the new renewal was not announced; Hasbro SVP Global Licensing Marianne James said the companies were planning games for “…2027 and the years beyond.”

Games to be released under the license in the future include new editions of Renegade’s Hasbro-based RPGs with 5.5-compatible rules.  Transformers 2nd Edition Roleplaying Game, G.I. Joe 2nd Edition Roleplaying Game, and Power Rangers 2nd Edition Roleplaying Game will be offered first on BackerKit, followed by trade release.

The Hasbro licenses include the three brands above plus M.A.S.K., My Little Pony, JEM and the Holograms, and ROM the Spaceknight, plus tabletop games Axis & Allies, Diplomacy, Heroscape, Robo Rally and Ikusa.  Renegade Game Studios and Hasbro have renewed their agreement for Renegade to produce tabletop games featuring Hasbro properties, the companies announced.  The term of the new renewal was not announced; Hasbro SVP Global Licensing Marianne James said the companies were planning games for “2027 and the years beyond.”

Renegade’s licensing relationship with Hasbro goes back to 2018, when it signed to produce games based on Power Rangers, for which Hasbro was master toy licensee (see “Power Rangers Coming“).  Renegade has recently been publishing games based on Hasbro subsidiary Wizards of the Coast’s Dungeons & Dragons brand (see “’Castle Ravenloft’ Returns“).

Renegade’s RPG line-up is changing for 2027; they will no longer publish World of Darkness games in conjunction with White Wolf (see “Renegade Ending White Wolf“).
