Toys ‘R’ Us Store in San Marcos, TX
Go! Retail Group is rapidly expanding the number of standalone Toys ‘R’ Us stores for the holiday season and expects to have 160 stores open this year. The 120 new stores, which join 40 existing standalone stores, represents a big jump from the 11 flagship stores and around 20 holiday stores the group operated last holiday season (see “Big Increase in Toys ‘R’ Us Stores”).
Some of the stores will include Creator Studios, where influencers, creators, and toy brands can create content and run events. Others will feature candy stores and cafes.
In addition to the Go! Retail Group Toys ‘R’ Us stores, there are Toys ‘R’ Us stores in Macy’s department stores nationwide, and shop-in-shops with the Navy Exchange Service Command. Toys ‘R’ Us is also opening two new airport shop-in-shops at WH Smith stores at Orlando International Airport. The first opened in August, with a second scheduled to open next year.
