Pokémon Pokopia has won the Grand Prize at the Japan Game Awards 2026, with Game Freak director Shigeru Ohmori accepting the award on behalf of the team. Ohmori said Pokémon Pokopia began as a prototype project involving only a small number of people before growing through collaboration with many others, thanking everyone who contributed to the game as well as the players who supported it. The award recognizes Pokémon Pokopia as the top Grand Prize winner at this year’s Japan Game Awards, adding another major milestone to the Pokémon spin-off’s launch and development.
