Everything else may be getting more expensive, but comics are getting more affordable, as Dark Horse Comics jumps on the compact editions bandwagon (see “Get the Full Story with Compact Comics“) with their own line that will launch in 2027. These volumes follow the now-standard template of 8″ x 5” trim size, 200+ page count, and $9.99 MSRP. The first titles will be The Witcher Compact Edition: The Bear and the Butterfly and The Ballad of Two Wolves, slated for May 25, 2027; Black Hammer Compact Edition: Secret Origins and The Event, set for June 1; Cyberpunk 2077 Compact Edition: Trauma Team and Psycho Squad, scheduled for June 29; and Canto Compact Edition: The Shrouded Man, due out on July 6. Each of these contains the first two story arcs of the series, and the Canto one includes the Canto & the Clockwork Faeries one-shot as well. Next on the list is The Goon Compact Edition: Nothin’ But My Misery and My Murderous Childhood, with details to be announced later.
