Taschen to Publish Two-Volume ‘Lucas Museum of Narrative Art’ Book

Taschen Books has announced Lucas Museum of Narrative Art, a compilation of images based on the Lucas Museum’s inaugural exhibit, which will open on September 22, 2026. The two-volume book traces the history of visual storytelling, with work by artists including Thomas Hart Benton, Jessie Willcox Smith, Frank Frazetta, Maxfield Parrish, Norman Rockwell, and N. C. Wyeth, as well as work from other creators in the fields of photography, illustration, painting, comics, and film. The book includes texts by filmmakers George Lucas and Guillermo del Toro, as well as an introduction by Ryan Linkof, and is organized thematically, with a special section dedicated to the cinematic universe of Star Wars.

The book will be available in three formats: The Classic edition consists of two hardcover volumes in a slipcase, with 832 pages and a trim size of 9.6” x 12”; it will be released on October 24, 2026, with an MSRP of $200. The 45 edition is a single 496-page hardcover volume with a trim size of 6” x 8.5”; it will be released on November 3, 2026, with an MSRP of $30.00. The Piccolo edition is a miniature volume that will be available only through Lucas Museum retail outlets.
