GW Opens Eye of Terror with Combat Patrol, Battalion Boxes

Games Workshop has announced a Combat Patrol:  Iron Warriors and three Eye of Terror Battalion boxes:  Sons of Dorn, Adeptus Mechanicus, and Imperial Knights, to support the upcoming Eye of Terror: Reign of Iron expansion books.

The new kits focus on heavily armored units well suited to the new Apocalypse rules at the heart of the Reign of Iron expansion, starting with the Chaos Combat Patrol:  ron Warriors, featuring the Warsmith Kravek Morne clad in Heresy-era Cataphractii armor and his entourage of five Chaos Terminators, five Havocs, and ten Legionaries.  The kit also includes an assortment of alternate heads and shoulder pads for more customization options.

The three Battalion boxes offer powerful Imperial forces to stand against the Iron Warriors:

The Sons of Dorn set includes a pair of Repulsor Executioners, a Ballistus Dreadnought, and a Redemptor Dreadnought plus accessories perfect for fielding them as Imperial Fist or Black Templar units in any combination.

The Adeptus Mechanicus set comes with a trio of vehicles, an Onager Dunecrawler, an Ironstrider Ballistarius (with components for conversion to a Sydonian Dragoon), and a Skorpius Dunerider (with alternate parts for a Skorpius Disintegrator).

Rounding out the reinforcements is the Imperial Knights kit with a Knight Valiant armed with a thundercoil harpoon supported by a pair of Armiger Warglaives, or optionally built as a Knight Castellan and two Armiger Helverins.

MSRP and release dates were not announced as of this writing.

Last month, Games Workshop announced four Combat Patrol sets (see “Games Workshop Reveals Four New ‘Warhammer 40,000’ Combat Patrols”) and The Maelstrom sourcebooks (see “Games Workshop Reveals New Narrative Campaign for ‘Warhammer 40,000’”).
