ComicsPRO 2026: Mike Mignola’s Hellboy: Seed of Destruction #1 Returns with Facsimile Reprint

At the Comics PRO, Dark Horse Comics announced a collectible facsimile edition of the first-ever Hellboy comic by the award-winning cartoonist Mike Mignola. Since its inception in 1994, Mignola’s legendary Hellboy has become one of the most beloved, expansive comics universes in the history of the medium, earning both Eisner and Harvey Awards, leading to four film adaptations, and inspiring generations of creators. To celebrate the series’ legacy, Dark Horse Comics is releasing a new facsimile edition of the first-ever Hellboy comic. Co-written by Mignola and John Byrne, with art by Mignola, colors by Mark Chiarello, and letters from Pat BrosseauHellboy: Seed of Destruction #1 Facsimile Reprint will include all of the original design and ads from the original edition, including comic art icon Art Adams’ “Monkeyman and O’Brien” backup story. Dark Horse will also publish a 1:25 variant edition featuring new art by Mignola with colors by Dave Stewart
