DC Comics announced new Absolute titles and upcoming Next Level titles at the ComicsPRO 2026 meeting.
Absolute Green Arrow, by writer Pornsak Pichetshote and artist Rafael Albuquerque, will be a slasher horror story spinning out of the one-shot Absolute Evil #1 (see “‘Absolute Evil’ Event”). Following the murder of Oliver Queen, a serial killer goes after corrupt billionaires, all of whom are found to have green arrows sticking out of their corpses. Executive protection specialist Dinah Lance sets out to identify the killer, looking at the most dangerous archers in the DC universe and examining their connections to Queen. The first issue will be released on May 20, 2026, with a main cover by Albuquerque, variants by Gerald Parel, Guillem March, and Reiko Murakami, and a 1:25 incentive variant by Tula Lotay.
Absolute Catwoman, by writers Che Grayson and Scott Snyder and artist Bengal, picks up on story elements first introduced in Absolute Batman. An encounter with someone from her past sends Selena Kyle on a globe-spanning quest to solve a mystery in a story that will reveal how she came to be the world’s greatest thief and who she angered along the way. The six-issue series will launch on June 10, 2026, and the first issue will have a main cover by Bengal, variants by David Nakayama, Sozomaika, and Kaare Andrews, and a 1:25 variant by Mateus Manhanini.
An Absolute Universe crossover event will take place in the fourth quarter of 2026, but DC did not reveal any details.
DC’s Next Level series will launch in March with Lobo #1, Batwoman #1, and Deathstroke: The Terminator #1 (see “First ‘Next Level’ Series”), followed by The Fury of Firestorm #1 on April 8 and Zatanna #1 on April 29.
The next three series will feature Barbara Gordon, the Deadman, and the Teen Titans.
Barbara Gordon: Breakout, by Mariko Tamaki and Amancay Nahuelpan, starts with Gordon’s arrest and imprisonment in the Supermax prison, accused of aiding the Bat-Family. The story is in continuity and spins out of the current Batman series. The first issue will be released on May 13 with a main cover by Karl Kerschl, variant covers by David Nakayama and Yanick Paquette, and a 1:25 incentive variant by Nahuelpan. The issue also features a DC: Next Level variant cover by Jorge Corona and a foil variant by Nakayama.
The Deadman, a six-issue series by W. Maxwell Prince and Martín Morazzo, the creative team behind Image’s The Ice Cream Man, and Chris O’Halloran, starts with the world in disarray following the events of DC K.O. and follows the Deadman, Boston Brand, as he searches for the source of the disruption and tries to set things right. The first issue will be released on June 3 with a main cover by Morazzo, variant covers by Frank Cho and Tula Lotay, a 1:25 incentive variant by Mike Choi a DC: Next Level variant cover by Jorge Corona, and a foil variant by Lotay.
In Teen Titans, by the Power Rangers: Shattered Grid team of Kyle Higgins and Daniele Di Nicuolo, Red Hood must join forces with a new group of young heroes to track down missing superpowered teens. The series will launch in summer 2026.
DC also teased a new Gotham City event, Bad Seeds, which will launch in the third quarter of 2026.
