Alex Ross brings a new point of view to the Marvel Universe in his upcoming solo graphic novel Marvel Dimensions. The story starts with a look at the origin stories of Spider-Man, the Incredible Hulk, Iron Man, Wolverine, and other iconic characters, all depicted in fully painted spreads, then shifts into a darker, more complex narrative that uses a layered structure and interlocking stories to draw the reader into the mystery at the center of the book. The graphic novel includes a bonus 32-page comic that is an integral part of the storyline. Abrams ComicArts will publish Marvel Dimensions as a 112-page, 8 1/2” x 11” hardcover with bonus insert comic on September 1, 2026, with an MSRP of $29.99.
“This is my longest work to date that I have written and drawn myself,” Ross said in a statement accompanying the announcement. “Dimensions is like a combination of my most famous works, Marvels and Kingdom Come, where my love of comics history and ambitious world-building collide.”
“It goes without saying that Alex is a once-in-a-generation artist and a storytelling master, and this book showcases that on all fronts,” added Marvel Comics Editor-in-Chief C.B. Cebulski.
Ross’s Fantastic Four: Full Circle, also published by Abrams ComicArts, was a best-seller when it was released and was so successful that Abrams later released an expanded edition (see “‘Fantastic Four: Full Circle’”)
