Ravenburger’s Core Business Grows Despite TCG Sales Levelling Off; Unveils Two New ‘Disney Lorcana’ Sets
Ravensburger revealed that sales of Disney Lorcana declined in 2025, while their core business grew.
The days of Linecana (see “Disney Lines“) may be in the rear view mirror for Disney Lorcana. After a track record of solid sales over the last few years, starting with its initial launch in 2023, Ravensburger revealed (in a recent press release) that Disney Lorcana sales declined in 2025, and have now “normalized at a high level.” Ravensburger also stated the following about Disney Lorcana’s current situation:
“Those joining the brand with a primary interest in investment have since withdrawn, while the game continues to enjoy growing popularity among its core target group of players and collectors.”
The company also noted that the Disney Lorcana sets released in the second half of 2025 sold out, and the number of players picking up the game continues to grow. This sales cycle behavior is fairly typical for new TCGs. When a new TCG launches, especially one with a strong license like Disney, fans often show high levels of enthusiasm for the game and buy plenty of product. Then, about 8 to 9 sets into the game’s lifecycle, the enthusiasm fades and a more stable sales pattern sets in.
Signs of Disney Lorcana hitting a plateau in popularity and sales actually began to emerge sometime around the end of 2024, based on data collected from secondary market sales charts (see “‘Disney Lorcana’ Plateaus“). Thus, it is not too surprising that Ravensburger reported a sales drop in 2025, despite still having a generally high level of sales for the game.
Ravensburger also reported that their core business (which includes games, puzzles, and books) grew about 3% in 2025. The overall sales for Ravensburger Group was down 5.9% (currency-adjusted at -4.8%), totaling an estimated $887 million (converted from Euros). In the same press release, CSO of Ravensburger Susanne Knoche also said that the company experienced 11% growth in the U.S. and Canada, despite the new tariff policies (see “Erratic U.S. Tariff Policy“) and customs regulations. Earlier in 2025, Ravensburger NA CEO Stephane Madi addressed Ravensburger’s strategies for handling the tariffs in an interview with ICv2 (see “ICv2 Interview“).
Additionally, Ravensburger announced two new Disney Lorcana sets for 2026: Wilds Unknown and Attack of the Vine! Wilds Unknown features characters from Toy Story, The Incredibles, and Brave, and will hit stores on May 15, 2026. They also previewed images of the Prerelease Packs for the set that will be available for events a week before (see below). Attack of the Vine! showcases characters from Monsters, Inc. and will hit stores over the summer.
