Yen Press announced that it has licensed new manga by the creators of two series that are already popular in English, PTSD Radio and My Happy Marriage.
Seeds of Anxiety: Asterisk, by Masaaki Nakayama, is a collection of horror stories about memories that break down and somehow infiltrate people’s everyday lives and plant the seeds for horrific events. Known as Fuan no Tane* in Japanese, this is the latest of three series by Nakayama that have similar names; the first one, simply titled Fuan no Tane, was made into a live-action film in 2013. Nakayama’s PTSD Radio was licensed by Kodansha (see “Kodansha Announcements”) and was nominated for a 2023 Eisner Award. Vol. 1 of Seeds of Anxiety: Asterisk will go on sale in July 2026.
The Bubble Love of the Mermaid, based on an original story by Akumi Agitogi with art by Kei Tamura, is a romantic fantasy tale about a student at a girls’ school with a mysterious red mark on her wrist, a handsome new teacher, and a marriage proposal that seems to come out of the blue. Yen has also licensed the light novel, with the first volume set for April 14, 2026, and the first volume of the manga will be released in July 2026.
Agitogi’s My Happy Marriage, published by Square Enix, also based on a light novel, has been adapted into an anime that runs on Netflix; the fourth volume was one of the Top 20 manga titles through BookScan when it was released (see “September 2023 Circana BookScan”).
