Follows Up on the Success of ‘Deadpool/Batman’ Crossover; New One-Shot Features 25 Variant Covers
Marvel Comics announced Spider-Man/Superman #1, a new one-shot crossover comic, which will hit stores on April 15, 2026.
Marvel and DC Comics will team up again to follow-up on one of the hottest comic crossover releases of 2025 (see “‘Batman/Deadpool’ #1 (One-Shot)“). This time around, Spider-Man and Superman will cross paths in a one shot that features a lead story by Brad Meltzer and Pepe Larraz in which the web-slinger and the Man of Steel face off with Lex Luthor and Norman Osborn.
“I’ve been waiting fifty years to write this book,” commented Brad Meltzer about his work on the one shot. “Superman and Spider-Man have affected me more than most real people. I carry them with me everywhere, and our story cuts to the core of what it means to be a good person.”
The comic will also feature multiple bonus stories:
- Spider-Man Noir and Golden Age Superman in a story by Dan Slott and Marcos Martin.
- A Geoff Johns and Gary Frank story in which the Super- and Spider-families meet Mysterio.
- Jason Aaron and Russell Dauterman bring together Jane Foster as the Mighty Thor and Wonder Woman as Symbiote hordes invade Metropolis in a new War of the Realms.
- A story with Steel and the Hobgoblin by Steel co-creator Louise Simonson and Humberto Ramos.
- Gwen Stacy and Lana Lang are in a campus crossover by Amazing Spider-Man writer Joe Kelly and Humberto Ramos.
- Miles Morales as Spider-Man with Superman in a story by Brian Michael Bendis and Sara Pichelli.
A big appeal of this one-shot for comic collectors will be the array of 25 variant covers (much like Deadpool/Batman #1). The list of all-star artists that produced covers for this book includes Frank Miller, Gary Frank, Walter Simonson, Skottie Young, Peach Momoko, Mark Bagley, and others. The main cover is by Pepe Larraz.
