Games Workshop has announced a new miniatures set and related supplement book for the Middle-earth Strategy Battle Game.
The miniatures set, The Path of Cirith Ungol: Shelob & Gollum, will include Shelob, the giant spider who hunts prey in Cirith Ungol, the route into Mordor followed by Frodo, Samwise, and Gollum. She is the spawn of the ancient evil Ungoliant; she paralyzes her victims and webs them up for later dining. The Shelob figure is much larger than Smeagol, who’s climbing over rocks, and the web-covered Frodo, who’s ready to be eaten at any moment.
The Treachery of Gollum softcover includes nine scenarios on the passage through Cirith Ungol and their encounters with Shelob and Gollum. The scenarios can be played as standalone scenarios, or combined into a longer campaign. Painting guides for the minis set are also included. The 48-page volume also includes guides on creating the look of the Dead Marshes and Osgiliath Sewers.
