Wizards of the Coast Further Expands Partnership with TCGplayer

Wizards of the Coast further expanded their partnership with TCGplayer, the company announced.

Earlier in 2025, WotC and eBay subsidiary TCGplayer formed a partnership that allowed verified retail sellers to display a WPN badge on TCGplayer’s online marketplace (see “Partnership with Wizards of the Coast“). The two companies have now further expanded that partnership as TCGplayer has now been named WotC’s preferred online marketplace for WPN stores. Shoppers can now filter search results on TCGplayer to show products exclusively sold by WPN-verified stores. The expansion of the partnership also entails WotC offering exclusive content for TCGplayer’s community, which will include interviews with game designers and exclusive reveals.

“Our investment in local game stores and the Wizards Play Network is at the core of this initiative,” said Brian Trunk, Vice President of Wizards Commercial, Hobby and WPN at Wizards of the Coast. “By teaming up with TCGplayer, we’re not only giving players greater confidence in their purchases, but also empowering WPN retailers to thrive, reach new audiences, and continue building strong Magic communities.”

The news comes at the end of a year of significant change at TCGplayer. In June 2025, the company closed down their longtime headquarters in Syracuse, NY to move to Louisville, KY (see “TCGplayer Union, Company Reach Settlement“).
