Riot Games Announces 'Riftbound TCG' Rare Redemption Program

To Replace Missing Rare Cards in Some ‘Origins’ Packs; Also, Company Investigates Card Cutting Problems

Riot Games announced a Riftbound TCG rare redemption program to help replace missing rare cards in some Origins packs.

Riot Games confirmed that some Origins packs are missing a rare card. Origins packs should contain at least two rare or better cards, and a small percentage of the packs do not. However, this issue does not impact rarity distribution on a booster box level. This problem will still occur for some Spiritforged packs (see “Next ‘Riftbound TCG’ Set“) and will not be fully resolved until the third set.

To help rectify this issue, Riot is working with their partners at UVS Games to offer a rare redemption program where players can fill out a claim form on the Riot Games website for replacement cards (limit three claims per person and six per household). Conditions may apply for any card replacement requests through this program, which may also vary by region.

Riot is also looking into an issue with the Riftbound TCG card edges for the Origins set. The cards’ thick, premium paper stock may have caused more wear than expected on the printing facility’s card-cutting tools. This wear created a burring problem on the edges of a small percentage of cards (these have rougher edges than the other cards). Riot has made changes to the cutting process to try to resolve this issue for the Spiritforged set; any heavily damaged cards can be reported to UVS Games for potential card replacements (instructions also on the Riot Games website).
