Marvel Comics will kick off the run-up to its summer event series with Wolverine: Weapons of Armageddon, a four-issue miniseries launching in February. The miniseries, the first standalone comics tied to the event, will be written by event architect Chip Zdarsky with art by Luca Maresca. Marvel has previously flagged Captain America, also written by Zdarsky, and events in the Ultimate Universe wrap-up as lead-ins to the event (see “Summer 2026 Event“).
The story follows Logan as he tries to track down an abducted mutant and finds that the methods of the Weapon X program are still being used. Wolverine is in a race against the super-soldier-creating corporation Primewarrior, which has just hired Nuke.
“The Road to Armageddon starts with super soldiers, starts with the Weapon X program,” Zdarsky explained in a statement accompanying the announcement. “And Wolverine is going to kick off the end of everything.”
The A cover is by Leinil Francis Yu, with variants by Zdarsky and Inhyuk Lee.
