Marvel Comics has announced its Summer 2026 event, Armageddon Assembles, which will be led by Chip Zdarsky. The run-up to Armageddon Assembles will take place in Captain America (which Zdarsky writes, with art by Valerio Schiti) and events in the Ultimate Universe wrap-up, including the return of Mile Morales to the core Marvel universe with Origin Boxes in Ultimate Spider-Man: Incursion #5 (see “Final Ultimate Universe Issues Revealed“).
Marvel is comparing the Armageddon Assembles event to Avengers: Disassembled, which redefined the team for the new century. The Avengers: Disassembled storyline wrapped up in 2004 with a double-sized Avengers story titled Avengers Finale, by Brian Michael Bendis and Dave Finch along with numerous artists, including George Perez, who illustrated the final chapter (see “Perez on Avengers“).
