Wanda Maximoff Is 'Sorcerer Supreme' in New Ongoing Series

Marvel Comics has announced a new ongoing series, Sorcerer Supreme, in which the Scarlet Witch, Wanda Maximoff, takes on the title role following the fall of Victor Von Doom (see “Preview: ‘One World Under Doom’ #1”).  The new status quo will be laid out in One World Under Doom #9, due out on November 21, 2025.

Scarlet Witch writer Steve Orlando and artist Bernard Chang are the creative team for the new series, with Leirix as the main cover artist.  Scarlet Witch artist Russell Dauterman has designed a new costume for Wanda and will create variant covers for the first five issues of Sorcerer Supreme, each featuring a member of Wanda’s advisory council, as well as a variant featuring Wanda’s new costume. Rose Besch, Mark Brooks, Devmalya Pramanik, and Jenny Frison have also created variant covers, Marvel Stormbreaker artist Geoff Shaw has done a Winter Break Variant Cover for the first issue, and Inhyuk Lee is doing connecting covers for Wiccan: Witches’ Road #1, Doctor Strange #1, and Sorcerer Supreme #1.  The first issue will be released on December 31, 2025.

“When it comes to the Scarlet Witch… anything’s possible!” Orlando said in a statement accompanying the announcement.  “Those are the words Wanda lives by, and they’re the words we as creators live by too.  So, with the Sorcerer Supreme title in the wind after One World Under Doom, the question became—who’s the next to wield the cloak and the eye?  Or more precisely—who could hear such powerful artifacts crying out from the edge of destruction?  And in the Marvel Universe, there’s one person above all who hears you when no one else will—Wanda Maximoff!”
