UDON Entertainment is the latest publisher to sign on with Neon Ichiban, with plans to bring select Street Fighter, Darkstalkers, and Mega Man comics, all based on CAPCOM games, to the digital platform.
“UDON Entertainment has built a legacy at the crossroads of gaming, anime, and comics,” said Chip Mosher, CCO & Co-Founder of Neon Ichiban, in a statement accompanying the announcement. “Their creative vision and global fanbase have helped shape modern pop culture.”
Earlier this week, the UK publisher Rebellion, home of 2000 AD, Judge Dredd, and a large catalog of British comics, announced that it is bringing both its upcoming releases and its back catalog to Neon Ichiban as well.
Neon Ichiban also announced a number of publishers in September (see “Exclusive: IDW Joins Neon Ichiban”). The platform, created by former ComiXology execs David Steinberger and Chip Mosher, was announced in June as an all-in-one platform for casual readers as well as a space for acquiring and trading digital collectibles (see “DSTLRY Founders Announce New Digital Comics Service”).
