With Backup Stories by Past Creators, Wraparound Connecting Covers by Russell Dauterman
Avengers #34 will be the 800th issue of the long-running series, and Marvel Comics plans to beef it up with extra material by past creators, whose names are yet to be revealed. The issue also marks a turning point for “Myrddin’s Endgame,” the current story by writer Jed McKay and artist Farid Karami, as it enters its final arc. The issue will be released on December 3, 2025, with a wraparound cover by artist Russell Dauterman that will bring together characters from throughout the Avengers’ history. The connecting cover will continue through issues #35 and #36.
“Editor Wil Moss referenced Jim Lee’s X-Men team lineups as inspiration,” Dauterman said in a statement accompanying the announcement. “I ran with that, looking to the awesome 1992 trading cards and also to the awesome art of George Pérez.”
Dauterman recently did a cover for Deadpool/Batman #1 (see “SDCC: Marvel Announces ‘Alien vs. Captain America’”).
