Fantagraphics Books has announced a new edition of Locas: The Maggie and Hopey Stories, by Jaime Hernandez, a collection of stories about Maggie Chascarillo and Hopey Glass that originally ran in the Hernandez Brothers’ Love and Rockets #1-50 from 1981 to 1996. Fantagraphics’ first collection was published in 2004 (see “Fantagraphics Upgrades Comics Journal”) and appears to be out of print; the new book has fewer pages but will include three stories that weren’t in the first edition. The 720-page black and white hardcover will go on sale on January 20, 2026, with an MSRP of $49.99 (the same price as the first edition 21 years ago).
