Renegade Game Studios will release Commanders, a new expansion for Axis & Allies, into retail on March 2026.
The new expansion pack shakes up games of Axis & Allies by adding Commander tiles to the game. One of the long-standing issues with Axis & Allies, as far as replayability goes, is that the opening moves required for any given country to achieve victory have been more or less set in stone for decades. The Commanders expansion apparently changes all of that, as it contains Commander Tiles that are secretly chosen at the beginning of the beginning of the game and have different abilities. The expansion contains famous WWII commanders such as General George S. Patton, Field Marshal Erwin Rommel, General Dwight D. Eisenhower, Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto, and more.
This expansion requires an Axis & Allies core game to play. It will retail for $20.00.
Renegade Game Studios will also release The Golden Blade, a new Diplomacy game (see “‘Diplomacy’“).
